The job I would like to have in the future

My future job

Imagen
Hi everyone! It is a bit hard for me to imagine my future job, because I still see that phase of life too far, even when there are just a few years left to finish my career, but at the moment, I`m only focused on that. But if I let my imagination run free, my ideal job is to work in a recognized architectural office, with a very nice team, in a very pleasant environment. I imagine myself working on an office, but with some days a week going out to check the work site, or talking with some clients.  I really wouldn`t like to travel a lot for work, just short trips a few times a year, because of it is difficult to have a family when you have to work in another country. I still don`t think about getting a major or not, therefore, I don`t know what I will specifically do in the future. Bye!

Election day

Imagen
Hi everyone! To be honest, I`m not really interested in politics, because every politician in my country end up being too ambitious for money, from any political parties. In fact, I have never really voted, except for the past votes for a new constitution. So I am note really sure if I will vote for the next presidential elections.  In my opinion, a good candidate for president must be very intelligent, and really cares about the quality of life of the poorest, and seeks the improvement of the country ( and not their own money ). I have never considered being a politician, since it is not a subject that interests me, and I am not very informed about it. In my city, as it is very small, everyone knows each other, therefore the electoral campaings are very simple and basic, because it is very easy to get to know the candidates.

The Best Concert Ever

Imagen
I haven`t seen many concerts, but one that I will definitly never forget is Baad bunny`s in September 2019 at Movistar Arena.  If you haven`t heard of him, Bad Bunny is a puerto rican trap and reggaeton singer, and I hve liked him since his beginnings. So when I heard he was going to throw a show in Chile I was really excited about it, but I didn`t really have the money to buy a ticket, so I tried to wein every contest I saw for tickets, without luck. But a few weeks before the concert my older sister invited me and my two other sisters! We went all together and had so much fun!  We danced and screamed a lot, and his visuals were really cool, it was like going to a masive party!  I really love it because it was a great way of spending fun time with my sisters. So the next time he throws a concert we are going again for sure!!

The worst place I have been

Imagen
I think that it is a little bit sad to write about this, because I really hate when someone makes negative comments abouth the place where I live, but I will try to be  honest and objective. The worts place I have ever been in my 21 years of life is Lanco. It is a small town in the south of Chile, and it is the middle point of Panguipulli (where I live) and Valdivia and Temuco (the biggest cities near Panguipulli), so all my life I have passed through this town. And that`s what it basically is; a place of passage. There is absolutly nothing to do in Lanco, just buy some snacks for the rest of the trip, there aren`t any entertaining shops, or nature to visit, there is only a square made of concret with any activity at all and a small river not suitable for swimming.  Another reason I don`t like this town  is because also the climate is awful, in winter season it is really cold and it always rains, and in the summer, there is a very strong sun without many places with...

Some reflections

This year started like all the others; full of energy, surrounded by all the people that I love. I had an amazing summer, I spend my days ob the beach, I went to parties, I met new people, in short I did everything that I enjoyed.  Then March came out, and I remember that I was already organizing my travel to return to Santiago and to the university, when they confirmed that there will not be on site classes due the Corona Virus. I remember thinking about how this virus got so far, because at first with my family we saw it like any other virus and we never thought about how quickly it would reach into Chile, and the consequences it would bring. At first, I was very afraid of online classes, I thought that I would not learn enough andthat I would do very badly throughout the semester, but it wasn`t like that. I realized  that I learned much better, and that is very useful to have the recordings of the classes, because I can watch them as many times as I need if I have any...

My favorite book

Hi everyone! today I`m going to write about my favorite book. When I was a child I really didn`t like to read at all! For school, we had to read a book and watch a movie every month and then they took a test of that content. But I always took like three week to start to read them, and looked for a way to read abstracts or notes of the book of another classmate. My parents always motivated me to read, they bought me books with ilustrations, even they help me to read the book, but I just didn`t liked it. Then, when I get in to high school my preferences didn`t change and I still thought that reading was too boring, but I took it more serious because I needed good grades. The last year of school they made us to read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown and I just loved it. The book tells the story of a religiuos symbolisim proffesor who is called by the police to help in the investigation of a murder who leaves clues about his nexts acts to destroy the Catolic Church, all based in the Vati...

A subject I`ve enjoyed stuying this semester

Hi everyone! today I will tell you about my favourite subjet of this semester. As I have written before, I`m cursing the third year of architecture. This semester I had six subjects and I really enjoyed all of them, but especially Design and project managament. The purpose of this subject it`s to enable the student to document, plan, manage and evaluate architecture projects in consideration of the regulatory framework in Chile.    In classes, we constantly learn a lot of material since there is a lot of information contained in the Urban Regulations in Chile, but it is not boring, otherwise it is really dynamic, because the teacher is very ethusiatic, fun and proactive with the students.     What I have enjoyed the most to learn is the entire legal process that requires when you present a project in the municipality of the commune that you are working in, because it is so much more complicated that I thought, because there is so many people that have to app...

My Bucket List

Hi everyone! Today I will make my own bucket list: -Graduate from University. -Go on an exchange. -Go skydiving. -Fly in a plane operated by my boyfriend. -Go on an African safari. -Build a house for my mom. -Give my dad a car. -Visit Firenze. Italy. -Go on a cruise with my best friends. -Go to the top of the Eiffel tower. -Adopt a child.  These are te favourite things/activities on my bucket list. Some of them are really difficult to achieve, for example go on a safari in Africa, because it is so far from Chile, and also (and the most important) it is very expensive. I have done some of them, like go on an exchange, in 2015 I went to Scotland on a school exchage, and in the same trip I went to the top of the Eiffel Tower, and also visit Firenze. I would love to share these activities with my family, my two best friends and my boyfriend, because they are the ones who always support me to fulfill my dreams.

Expert on your field

Zaha Hadid was an architect that I really admire. She is an anglo-iraqi who studied at the Architecture Association in London. When she graduated, she started working with her accademics, and after two years became a partner in the office. After three years, she formed her own studio; Zaha Hadid Architects, which works until this days, giving jobs to more than 400 people. She created a unique style of neo-futuristic architecture, full of curves, differents perspectives, within the trend of the descotructivism. Furthermore, Zaha also devoted herself to teaching in her alma mater, Architecture Association, at Hardvard, and at the Univivesity of Illinois. Additionally of creating unconventional buildings, she also dedicated to interior architecture, creating furniture and consumer products. She also designed her own clothes, and made her own clothe brand. Besides inspiring me as an architecture student, she inspires me as a woman, because she was the first woman in history to receive ...

A photograph you like

Imagen
This one is one of my favourite photos taken by me and it brings really cute memories and good feelings. It was taken the summer of 2016 in the Panguipulli lake, where my parents live, and where I am now during quarantine. And it shows my dog named Coca enjoying the wind and looking directly at my dad (who doesn`t appear in the photo). I love this photo because it remainds me all the good times of summer; spending time with my family that I don`t see during the year because I study in Santigo, it also remainds me the summer heat, the sound of the waves, the peace of that place, and obviously my pets wich actually are five dogs, and I miss them a lot when I am not in here.    Last year, I decided to print this photo and put it on the wall of my room to see it more often :)

Tv shows and series

Imagen
My favourite show is a british netflix series called Sex Education. The serie tells the life of a teenager who is the son of a sex educator, and he takes that rol at his school, giving differents advices to his classmates. I really like it because it`s very funny but also sentimental, and it has different young characters with very varied personalities   I have always wanted to watch "Dark", because it has been recommended by my friends, but I haven`t  because everyone says it`s difficult to understand as it have a lot of information.  If I have to recommend a serie, it would be "Sex Education", but also "La casa de papel", it is about a group of robber that enter to the paper house of the bank of Spain to print their own money. It`s really dynamic; it has a lot of action, also romance and comedy at the same time.

My favourite piece of technology

My favourite piece of technology is absolutly the cell phone. I remember having a cell phone since I was 12 years old, wich was really different from the one that I have now, because you could only send texts and made calls.   Now, I use it almost for everything; making phone calls, using social media, taking photos, and sometimes even to read some university papers.   I use it most of the day to stay connected at all times, but it makes me lose a lot of time of the day (and also the night).   I really like it for its size, because i can take it with me all the time, and also beacuse it last a long time, I have had mine during four year and it still works perfectly.   My life without it would be much more productive, but maybe more boring.

Why did I choose my career?

When I was a child my dreamjob was to be a singer. I don`t really remember it, but my family always tell me that story. For many years, I didn`t care about the career I would choose, but when I was at the last year of school, they started taking differents tests and questionnaires to choose a career that matches my skills and preferences. That`s how I researched about architecture and ended up being my favorite option. So far, my experience at university has been really good, I have met very nice people and made grate friends, even though sometimes, architecture can be overwhelming and stressful.  After  graduation from university, I would like to work in an office as an interior architect, I really love that area!
